Troubleshooting Guide

  • Incorrect sheave(s) on motors. Replace with proper sheave(s).
  • One or more booth doors are open. Close all doors.
  • Faulty door limit switch. Repair or replace faulty switch
  • Debris in solenoid valve. Remove debris.
  • Solenoid valve not installed correctly (air flow direction incorrect). Install valve correctly. If compressed air has already been applied to solenoid, diaphragm is probably damaged and needs to be repaired.
  • Thermostats is not set correctly. Reset thermostats to proper setting
  • Thermostats out of calibration. Re-calibrate or replace.
  • Thermostat probes in wrong location. Install probes in correct location.
  • Gas manifold pressure set incorrectly. Set gas manifold pressure to specifications on the Power Flame label.
  • Cure damper not opening. See #4 above

  • Burner switch on the AFC control panel in the OFF position. Turn on switch.
  • Control (ON/OFF) switch on Power Flame control box is in the OFF position. Turn on switch.
  • Johnson control high limit switch tripped (located by make-up fan motor). Push reset button on high limit switch located on the top of the switch.
  • No or not enough make-up air (JD-2 air flow switch located by make-up fan motor is not closing. See #3 above.
  • JD-2 Air Flow Switch wired incorrectly. Should be wired to “C” and “N.O.”
  • JD-2 Air Sensing Tubes are not adjusted correctly. Adjust tubes to correct positions, approximately 3″ away from the nearest wall and facing the incoming air. Refer to owner’s manual for more information.
  • Thermostats not set properly. Set thermostats to proper setting.
  • Thermostats out of calibration. Re-calibrate or replace.
  • Main gas cock closed (silver body, black handle) or test gas cock (brass body, yellow handle, located behind main gas valve). Open gas cocks.
  • Pilot did not light. Reset Honeywell Flame Safeguard Control located inside Power Flame control box
  • Dirty pilot. Refer to owner’s manual for burner cleaning instructions.
  • Not enough gas pressure. Refer to owner’s manual for setting correct gas pressure.
  • Incorrect electrode gap. Refer to owner’s manual for proper setting.
  • Incorrect combustion air-to-gas ratio. Adjust combustion air dampers for proper air-to-gas ratio
  • Thermostat probes not located in proper location. Install probes in proper location. Refer to owner’s manual for proper location.
  • Thermostats out of calibration. Re-calibrate or replace.
  • Burner out of adjustment. Adjust burner for proper firing rate
